Online Michif-Fransè Course: May 12 to June 18, 2026

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is offering a Michif-Fransè online course for learners at all levels, including those with little or no prior experience.

 

Running from May 12 to June 18, 2026, the course introduces the history and foundations of Michif-Fransè, including its writing system, sound patterns, vocabulary, and commonly used phrases. Participants will also have opportunities to practice speaking and build confidence using the language in everyday conversation.

 

Grounded in Métis traditions, the course supports learners in reconnecting with the language through practical, culturally relevant examples.

 

Classes will be held online every Tuesday and Thursday. Space is limited to 10 participants.
