Promoting the Health and Wellbeing of our Children and Families continues to be a top priority for the Métis Nation of Ontario. As we mark the importance of Orange Shirt Day today, we hope that you will be inspired to find ways to continue on with this important work all year long.

MNO Healing and Wellness is pleased to announce that we will be launching a Community Colouring Book in honour of our Métis families. We invite all MNO citizens to collaborate with us on this project. A total of 16 illustrations will be selected from various age categories (child/youth/adult) as well as one chosen from all categories to be used on the cover.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Please submit your un-coloured line art to be used as a colouring book page. The image created should answer the question: “What do Métis families do together to stay safe and healthy?”
  • Please include a few sentences that describe your picture, answering the above question.
  • Please submit your entries via email, in JPEG or PDF format to JasonJ@metisnation.org with the Subject Line: “Orange Shirt Day- Community Colouring Book”
  • If you cannot send your picture digitally, please use the contact email above to arrange for alternate delivery of your picture.

We are grateful for everyone’s entries, but unfortunately only 16 will be selected. For those submission that are chosen to be a part of our colouring book, the artist will receive a custom  basket which includes:

  • A Samsung Tablet
  • MNO SWAG
  • A custom gift valued at up to $250.00 (we will contact you directly with further information to make arrangements)
  • A copy of the MNO Colouring book which features your picture
Submissions will be open from September 30 to November 30, 2022 and the chosen artists will be announced in December, 2022.
