This notice, sent on behalf of Provisional Council of the Métis Nation of Ontario (PCMNO) Vice Chair Sharon Cadeau, is to inform Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) citizens residing in Region 2 that the position of Region 2 Councillor on the PCMNO has become vacant due to the resignation of Councillor Tim Sinclair. The PCMNO is grateful for Tim’s many years of service, which showcased his passion and dedication to both his community and the broader organization through his work at the local level on the Superior North Shore Métis Council and at the provincial level on the PCMNO.
Section 10 of the MNO Bylaws defines the subsequent action to be taken:
“If any vacancy occurs the PCMNO may appoint as a replacement, a citizen of the MNO, and that person shall hold office until the next election.”

Any MNO citizen residing in Region 2 who is interested in holding the position of Region 2 Councillor until the next MNO election and who is eligible (as per Section 6.3 of MNO Electoral Code: Part A and per MNO Policy #2018-001) should write a short letter describing why they would like to serve as the Region 2 Councillor and send the letter along with their current résumé to:

The letter and résumé must be received on or before Friday, September 5th, 2025 at 4:30 pm. Please share this information with other citizens in Region 2 especially those who you think would represent the Region well.
