Webinar: Navigating Neurodivergence in Early Childhood

Métis families with children who have special needs will benefit from this upcoming workshop on navigating neurodivergence in early childhood.
Led by Kayla Carrigan and Kait Maurice, Developmental Resource Consultants with the MNO’s Early Learning and Child Care team, this session will help families understand new and existing diagnoses and provide guidance on how to approach concerns. It will also share practical strategies for advocating for your child, explore self-regulation techniques that support both children and parents, and offer tips for communicating effectively with schools. Participants will receive information on local resources and support networks
Together, this workshop will highlight:
- The importance of early intervention.
- Fostering a supportive home environment that encourages growth and independence for children with special needs.
- How to build strong partnerships with healthcare professionals and other service providers.
- Various educational approaches and therapies that best support their child’s learning and development.
- The importance of community involvement and support groups in helping families feel less isolated on their journey.
To take part in the Family Workshops, families must:
- Have at least one child or grandchild between 0 and 12 years old.
- Have a parent, guardian, or grandparent who is an MNO citizen.
- Be able to connect to Zoom using the internet and a device.
