Nominations for the 2014 Premier’s Awards for Excellence in the Arts(Awards) are open. These Awards are an excellent opportunity to recognize the leadership, innovation, creativity and talent that artists and arts organizations bring to communities across the province. We hope you consider submitting a nomination and also share information about these Awards with your connections in the Aboriginal arts community.
Through your work, you know how arts and culture breathe life into communities across our province. You know what a great contribution the arts make to Ontario’s economy. Now is the time – nominate an artist or arts organization that deserves to be in the spotlight.
The Awards are conferred in two categories: an individual artist award of $35,000 and an arts organization award of $50,000. Nominations can recognize a candidate engaged in any professional arts practice or cultural industry, including (but not limited to):
- book and magazine publishing
- community arts
- crafts
- dance
- digital media
- film
- music
- opera
- television
- theatre
- traditional/cultural arts
- visual and media arts
- writing
Nominations are due December 2, 2013. Details about the Awards and nomination forms are available on the Ontario Arts Council(OAC) website.
