Join the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) for its 8th Annual Early Learning and Child Care Conference, taking place February 27–28, 2027, at White Oaks Resort and Spa in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
This year’s theme, “Rooted in Story: Exploring the Power of Storytelling Through Music, Movement, and Connection,” invites educators from across Ontario to explore the many ways stories can be experienced, shared and lived.
Through music, movement, relationships and creative expression, participants will discover how storytelling can enrich learning environments, strengthen children’s sense of identity and honour Métis culture and ways of being.
Stories are at the heart of how we learn, connect and understand the world around us. This year’s conference will feature keynote speaker Samson LaMontagne, a Métis/Michif educator from Regina, Saskatchewan.
Samson will present his keynote, “Amuz tway aprend l’Michif avek Mon nuk Samson – Have fun learning Michif with Monok Samson,” on Saturday, February 27, 2027. His presentation will explore the Michif language and its importance to Métis culture and ways of life.
Registration is open until November 30, 2026, or until the conference reaches capacity.
