Autism Allies: Build Skills and Confidence to Support Children with Autism

Families are invited to take part in Autism Allies, a six-week virtual series designed to provide parents, guardians, and grandparents with practical tools and strategies to support children with autism.

Through weekly discussions, activities, and support, participants will explore different aspects of autism while learning strategies to help navigate everyday challenges and support their child’s unique needs and strengths.

The six sessions will take place from 12–1 p.m. EST on the following dates:

  • October 6: Understanding Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • October 13: Behavioural Strategies, Emotional Regulation and Sensory Processing
  • October 20: Social Skills Development and Supporting Siblings
  • October 27: Routines, Independence Skills and Self-Advocacy
  • November 10: Introduction to Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)
  • November 17: Advocating for Your Child in Educational Settings

Registration is open from September 8 to September 22.

To participate, one parent, guardian, or grandparent must be an MNO citizen eligible for direct benefits, and families must have at least one child or grandchild between the ages of 0 and 12.

Participants will also need internet access and a device capable of connecting to Zoom.
