Thank you for your interest in the K-6 back to school backpacks. Families who applied to the One Application and indicated they wanted a backpack for their children will be contacted in July 2024 with program information.
The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Back-to-School Kits are now available for MNO citizens and children of MNO citizens who are returning to school for grades Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. The Back-to-School Kit contain supplies to help ease the return to school. Each backpack includes: 
- Hand Sanitizer
- Pencil Case
- Thermos
- Bento Box
- Pencil Crayons
- Markers
- A Gift Card
For a child to be eligible they must meet the following criteria:
- The parent and/or child must provide proof of MNO Citizenship
- The child must reside in Ontario
- The child must be entering Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6 for the 2022 school year and must be no older than 12 years of age at the time of application
Applications for the kits will open on July 4th, 2022 at 8:30 AM (EST). Please note, that there are a limited number of Back to School Kits and they will be sent on a first come first serve basis. Kits will be ready for distribution at the end of August 2022. Please allow 4-6 weeks for your Back to School Kit to be delivered.
Please note that there are no substitutions of items in the Kit. Physical addresses will be required for delivery as the Kits are being shipped through Purolator and they do not deliver to P.O. boxes. Applications will be accepted until July 15th, 2022, at 11:59 PM or until the Program reaches full capacity.
