Subject: Business Arising from 2010 MNO AGA
The 2010 MNO AGA passed a unanimous resolution (AGA-RES10-02) that all future resolutions brought to MNO AGAs that propose to change the MNO’s governance structures, policies or bylaws must be provided to MNO citizens for review thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of the AGA.
In order to comply with the direction from the 2010 MNO AGA, the PCMNO amended the MNO by-laws on June 27, 2011. The link below provides access to a copy of these amended MNO by-laws. For convenience, the sections of the MNO by-laws that were amended are underlined and the footnotes in the attached document indicate what amendments were made by PCMNO on June 27, 2011.
As well, the MNO Policy-Process for Conducting Special Business at a General Assembly, that (MNO Policy 2011-002) was adopted by the PCMNO on June 27, 2011 in order to operationalize these by-law amendments pursuant to the direction of the 2010 MNO AGA can also be viewed or downloaded by clicking the link below.
Since these by-law amendments are business arising from the 2010 MNO AGA, they will be dealt with at that part of the 2011 MNO AGA’s agenda. Specifically, section 39.1 of the MNO by-laws state,
In the event that the by-laws of the MNO have been amended by the PCMNO, the amended by-laws shall be approved at the next annual meeting of the general assembly.
