Transportation, Inc.
For Jamie Aide, learning that he was about to become a father was a life-changing event.

Jamie was working as a gas station clerk when he got the news. It was then he decided he needed to make some important changes in his life in order to better provide for his family. He knew that, without help, securing a career with health benefits would be a challenge.

With financial assistance from the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO), Jamie was able to attend Durham College’s AZ Driver skills training program. Successful graduates of the program gain an A-level driver’s license, allowing them to tow trailers which weigh in excess of 4,600 kilograms, in addition to gaining a Z-endorsement to operate any vehicle with air brakes within the province of Ontario.

After two months of training, Jamie received his Certificate of Completion.

Today, Jamie is a professional truck driver at Mackie Transportation, Inc. He loves his job and he gets to travel to see new places throughout North America.

Most importantly, Jamie is now able to provide a solid financial foundation for his family’s care and his children’s future.
