Emergency Housing Repair Program returns for 2026
The Emergency Repair Program (ERP) is now open. Eligible Métis citizen homeowners can apply for support with urgent health and safety repairs from April 7, 2026, until December 11, 2026, dependent on funding availability.
The Emergency Repair Program provides eligible homeowners with access to a one-time forgivable loan to address critical repairs that help ensure homes remain safe, secure, and accessible. Additional funding may also be available for major replacements such as septic systems, wells, mold remediation, foundation repairs, and asbestos removal, depending on individual circumstances and program eligibility.
Through the program, citizens may receive support for a range of urgent repairs, including:
- Roof leaks
- Heating and electrical systems
- Safe water supply, including wells
- Plumbing and septic systems
- Accessibility modifications
- Mold remediation
- Foundation repairs
- Asbestos removal
- Other health and safety-related repairs
Funding for the program is limited. Citizens interested in applying are encouraged to submit their applications early once the intake opens.
The MNO remains committed to supporting Métis citizens and families through housing initiatives that promote stability, safety, and wellbeing across communities.
