Finding Unity Through Negotiation:

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO), in partnership with the Gordon Foundation, is excited to announce a series of Negotiation Simulations for Métis youth (ages 16-29) this February. The “Finding Unity Through Negotiation” simulations are a great opportunity for Métis youth to explore aspects of Métis Self-Government, politics and policy by participating in a unique hands-on learning experience.

Similar to other popular simulations developed by the Gordon Foundation, such as “Understanding Modern Treaties”, “Finding Unity Through Negotiation” is designed to educate and inspire future Indigenous leaders. Participating youth will be divided into teams representing federal, provincial, and Indigenous governments to experience the give and take the of negotiating Self-Government.

This is an incredible opportunity for Métis youth to learn about the politics and policies that guide us as a community and get hands-on with the historic Self-Government journey we are about to embark on. We strongly encourage all interested youth join us this February to participate in “Finding Unity Through Negotiation” and take the next steps toward Métis Self-Government in Ontario.

Questions regarding the Negotiation Simulations can be addressed at the upcoming MNOYC Tea Series event with the Gordon Foundation on February 2, 2021. Like previous Tea events, youth will also have the opportunity to connect directly with the MNOYC and MNO President Margaret Froh.
