Tuesday, April 14, 2026
7:00 to 8:30 p.m. EST
Starting kindergarten is an important milestone for both children and families. This workshop will help families navigate the transition with practical strategies and guidance. Whether preparing for kindergarten for the first time or looking for additional support, families will gain helpful information to support their child’s success.
During the workshop, families will learn about the kindergarten curriculum and educational objectives, strategies for building routines, and ways to support children’s social and emotional development. The session will also explore how families can reinforce literacy and numeracy skills at home and address common questions about starting kindergarten.
The ELCC Developmental Resource Consultants at the MNO are dedicated to supporting families and enriching early childhood experiences. Through workshops like this, the team provides tools and knowledge to support children during key developmental milestones.
Registration opens March 30 and closes April 10, 2026. Families interested in attending can complete the registration form online. Once registered, participants will receive a Zoom link prior to the session.
To be eligible, at least one parent, guardian, or grandparent must be a Métis Nation of Ontario citizen eligible for direct benefits, have a child or grandchild aged 0–12, and have access to the internet and a device to join the virtual session.
