On Indigenous Veterans Day, members of the Métis Nation of Ontario Veterans’ Council and Ottawa Métis Council gathered at the National Aboriginal Veterans Monument in Ottawa to honour the sacrifices and service of Indigenous veterans. The ceremony, attended by veterans, community leaders, and dignitaries, included traditional prayers, songs, and remarks that highlighted the contributions of Indigenous veterans across generations. This solemn and inspiring event paid tribute to their courage, resilience, and the challenges they faced, both during their service and upon returning home.
