APPrO, the Association of Power Producers of Ontario, is offering a great opportunity that would benefit Ontario-based Aboriginal (First Nations and Metis) students considering a career in electrical power generation. For anyone interested in working in the fields of engineering, policy, law or business in the energy sector – there is a knowledge gap coming that will need to be filled by young people!

Now in its fourth year, the Aboriginal Student Program provided in conjunction with our Power Leader sponsors, Ontario Power Generation Inc. This program offers subsidized registrations to a number of qualified candidates so that they can attend our annual Canadian Power Conference and Networking Centre, held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in downtown Toronto, November 6 & 7, 2012.

APPrO 2012, currently in its 24th year of bringing together top decision makers and business people in the Ontario power sector to explore key issues of the day, offers a rare opportunity for students to learn what’s going on the industry and to meet people who are interested in hiring graduating students for some of the most interesting and challenging jobs anywhere.

We are asking for your assistance in disseminating this important information to the students in your Association so that they can take advantage of this great real-life learning opportunity.
