The Métis Nation of Ontario is holding the Iver: Winter Métis Youth Culture Camp from January 22 to 24, 2021 across the province virtually via Zoom!
The IVER: WINTER MÉTIS YOUTH CULTURE CAMP is an online camp approximately 2.5 days in duration that features a variety of workshops focused on land-based knowledge, storytelling, culture, arts and community building.
The camp schedule:
• Friday, January 22, 2021 (6-9pm est)
• Saturday, January 23, 2021 (9am- 4pm est)
• Sunday, January 24, 2021 (9am – 4pm est)
Programming will be in sync with the winter season and will engage youth by exploring Métis culture and way of life. As in previous Métis Youth Cultural Camps the target age group is youth in Grades 10, 11, 12.
While the format is different from past years, the Iver: Winter Métis Youth Culture Camp will connect Métis youth to their culture and gives them opportunity to learn and practice traditional skills. Youth will interact with Métis knowledge holders, PCMNO Senators, MNO staff and facilitators in events/activities that span the duration of the camp.
Space is limited, so please register and complete the application as soon as possible.
Participants can access the MNO Application Portal: metisnation.smapply.io.
