The Métis Nation of Ontario will be continuing their Alterative Care recruitment information sessions (formally known as foster care) virtually. Supporting the welfare of Métis children and youth has been established as a top priority for the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO). There are currently many Métis children within the child welfare system who would benefit from the stability of a loving and compassionate household.
The sessions will summarize Ontario’s current process and eligibility requirements for becoming an Alternative Care Home. Additionally, be aware that prospective foster parents will not be licensed by the MNO, but will need to apply to a local agency.
The information session will address:
• What an Alternative care home is
• Criteria for becoming an Alternative care parent
• Process pathway
• Supports
Upcoming Dates:
