The Talk: Thriving with Nature
Overview: In this session we will be discussing our relationship with the land and water and the role they play in keeping our bodies and minds healthy. We will explore the historical connection that humans have with nature and how we can maintain that connection in the age of technology.
Bio: A young Mike Richardson spent his summers by the lake. As he grew, so did his appreciation for the land and water. His experiences at many summer camps eventually led him to pursue post-secondary education in recreation and environmental science. Mike holds an Outdoor Recreation, Parks & Tourism degree and a Bachelor of Education. As an outdoor educator and leader, he has worked with numerous Colleges, Universities and other organizations including: Outward Bound Canada, YMCA Camp Wabanaki, Onondaga Camp, March of Dimes Canada, City of Toronto, City of Thunder Bay, the Outdoor Council of Canada, Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors, and the Ontario Recreational Canoeing and Kayaking Association among others. Mike spends his leisure time with his kids in the woods, paddling on the lake, or rock climbing the cliffs of Ontario.
