Self-identifying Métis sisters Chasity King and Madison Bissonette love to bowl, and have medals to prove it. Both girls bowl at a junior level and have attained gold medals at a Provincial level.
This past February Chasity achieved gold medal standing for the Provincial Youth Bowling Canada (YBC) Championship, and will be bowling at the National level representing Northern Ontario May 1-3 in Toronto. In March of 2015 Madison achieved a gold medal standing at the provincial level for the Canadian Tenpin Federation (CTF) and will represent Northern Ontario at the National level in Winnipeg May 29 – June 1, 2015.
For the 2013 YBC 4 Steps to Stardom Tournament Madison bowled the highest score of the tournament of 204 points, while simultaneously achieving fourth place for her average score of 152 points. In 2014’s tournament, while bowling in the junior division, Madison placed fifth with an average of 158.4 points, with a high score of 195 points.
This is Chasity’s fourth time bowling her way to the Nationals. In 2013, as a bantam, she gold medaled her way to the provincial level for the Canadian Tenpin Federation (CTF) Nationals in Calgary, where she won two bronze medals. In 2014, again as a bantam, Chasity took another gold medal at the provincial level sending her to Winnipeg for the YBC Nationals, where she won a silver medal for the team event. Chasity also gold medaled her way, in 2014, as a bantam at the provincial level and bowled at the CTF Nationals in Sault Ste. Marie where although she did not place, she finished fourth in her division.
Their aunt Tammy Webb and father Rick are extremely proud of them, and assure us that the entire family will be rooting for Chasity and Madison when they go for gold at the Nationals.
