Métis Youth Encouraged to Apply for Senate Program

The Senate of Canada is inviting eligible Indigenous youth to apply for the 2026 Voices of Youth Indigenous Leaders program, an opportunity to share their perspectives directly with senators and connect with other young Indigenous leaders from across the country.

Hosted by the Senate Committee on Indigenous Peoples, the program brings together First Nations, Métis, and Inuit youth between the ages of 18 and 35 to discuss issues affecting their communities through meaningful dialogue with members of the Senate.

Selected participants will travel to Ottawa from October 27 to 29, 2026, where they will appear before the Senate Committee on Indigenous Peoples, meet with senators, participate in special events and activities, and build connections with fellow Indigenous youth leaders from across Canada.

All travel, accommodation, and related expenses will be covered for successful applicants.

The Voices of Youth Indigenous Leaders program provides a unique opportunity for Métis youth to amplify their voices, share their lived experiences, and contribute to conversations that help inform federal decision-making on Indigenous issues.
