The Metis Nation of Ontario (MNO) invites MNO citizens to pick up a bow and fiddle and participate in a new musical program: Healing Our Spirits –Reconnecting Through Music.
As many of us are feeling the effects of isolation, there is now an exciting opportunity to re-connect with Metis culture and with one another. Beginning October 11, we are offering bi-weekly virtual fiddle lessons to the community! The lessons will run all winter (October 2021-January 2022) and sessions will include sharing stories and cultural knowledge with our Senators and elders.
The program takes place via Zoom and will culminate in a joint recital in 2022. Fiddles with hard cases will be provided to those who register. Please note that supplies are limited to two fiddles per household and a maximum of 150 participating households. Ages 6+ are able to take part and we offer both beginner and intermediate classes. We hope you are able to join us on this musical experience!
