Another successful year for MNO Early Learning and Child Care Christmas Gift program
The MNO Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) team has been hard at work with the launch of the 2nd Annual ELCC Christmas Gift Program. We are excited to share that over 500 MNO Citizen families with children 0-12 years old, and over 900 children across the province received a special package to spread some holiday cheer.
MNO ELCC elves shopped for toys for each child that were developmentally appropriate, and would provide opportunities to expand learning and play. Educational toys were chosen that help children build their imagination, enhance problem solving skills, and deepen exploration of science and their connection with nature.
Families also received a special gift, including a book to share with their children over the holidays called The Night Before a Canadian Christmas by Toby Towsin. We hope families enjoy practicing their reading skills while reading a great reimagining of the traditional story with a Canadian twist.
Each family also received a cookie kit, which included all ingredients needed to make homemade cookies as well as custom cookie cutters of Ontario animals. The provided cookie kit is sure to be a fun family activity, and help children practice their baking, measuring and decorating skills.
The MNO hopes for every Métis early learner to feel the spirit of the season through this program, and for our families to gain some relief from the crazy year we’ve all had. The MNO ELCC Christmas Gift Program has wrapped up for another year with huge success and the ELCC team looks forward to next year!
