MNO Invites Métis-Owned Businesses to Join New Registry

Are you an MNO citizen who owns a business? The Métis Nation of Ontario wants to hear from you.

As part of its ongoing work to support Métis economic prosperity and self-sufficiency, the MNO is creating a new Métis Business Registry featuring businesses that are majority-owned by MNO citizens.

Supporting Métis entrepreneurs and businesses is an important part of building a stronger economic future for Métis citizens and communities. Through the Métis Voyageur Development Fund, Métis-owned businesses across Ontario have received support to start, grow, and succeed. The new Métis Business Registry builds on those efforts by creating more opportunities for Métis businesses to connect with the MNO and its partners.

Businesses included in the registry may have opportunities to provide goods and services to the MNO Secretariat, including through local purchasing at more than 30 MNO offices and owned properties across Ontario. The registry will also help the MNO identify and refer Métis-owned businesses through its growing network of partners.

To begin the registration process, business owners may be asked to provide:

  • MNO Citizenship Card information
  • Business website and social media links, if available
  • Business registration documents, where applicable
