MNO Presents on ‘Resistance, Governance, and the Powley Decision’ at 2021 Truth and Reconciliation Week
Ontario Métis history was on virtual display during this year’s Truth and Reconciliation Week, a five-day online event hosted by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR) and aimed at Canadian schools and students. The NCTR event is open to anyone prepared to learn more of Canada’s true history with Indigenous peoples, and importantly, the work to be done toward reconciliation.
Among this year’s presenters was Region 4 Councilor for the Provisional Council of the Métis Nation of Ontario (PCMNO) Mitch Case. Councilor Case provided a Métis perspective to the discussions, focusing on Métis resistance, governance and the Powley Decision.
