MNO seeking input from Métis-owned businesses on tariff impacts
The Métis Nation of Ontario is seeking input from Métis-owned businesses to better understand how U.S. tariffs, changing trade conditions, and broader economic uncertainty are affecting businesses across Ontario.
The MNO’s Economic Development Branch has launched a short survey for MNO citizens who own or operate businesses in Ontario. The survey was developed following a request from Kathleen Anderson, PCMNO Economic Development Portfolio Holder, to better understand what Métis-owned businesses are experiencing and what supports may be needed.
The survey asks business owners about the impacts they are currently experiencing, what they anticipate in the months ahead, and the types of support that would be most helpful.
Businesses are invited to share whether they have experienced challenges such as increased costs, supply-chain disruptions, reduced sales or customer demand, difficulties accessing U.S. markets, workforce impacts, cash-flow pressures, or uncertainty when making business decisions.
The survey also asks what supports could help businesses respond, including access to financing, business stabilization supports, new markets and customers, procurement opportunities, trade and supply-chain support, workforce assistance, and information about government programs and funding.
The information gathered will help the MNO develop timely supports for Métis-owned businesses and strengthen advocacy for broader government assistance for businesses affected by tariffs and changing trade conditions.
The survey takes approximately three to five minutes to complete and is open to MNO citizens who own or operate a business in Ontario. Participants should have their MNO Citizenship Card available when completing the survey.

Survey closes November 15, 2026.
