On Sunday, June 21, National Aboriginal Day and the Summer Solstice were both celebrated across Canada.

Na-Me-Res (Native Men’s Residence) sponsored the celebration at Fort York in Toronto. Several Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) citizens from the MNO Toronto York Region Métis Council were represented.

Joe Paquette, President of the MNO Veterans’ Council participated in the grand entry by proudly carrying the Métis flag which was provided by the First Nations organizers.

It was a great day to celebrate Métis culture and rekindle old friendships.
