Nominations open for the Women Honouring Women Award

The 2026 Women Honouring Women Award nominations are now open. Presented at the MNO Annual General Assembly (AGA) in August, this award celebrates the remarkable contributions of Métis women who have made a difference through volunteerism, leadership, and cultural advocacy.

The award is presented by the Métis Nation of Ontario Women’s Council (MNOWC), which is comprised of Métis women from across Ontario committed to promoting women’s issues and advocating on their behalf within the MNO community. The Council encourages the full participation of women in building a strong and healthy Métis Nation.

Criteria

Nominees must:

  • Be a verified Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) woman citizen residing in Ontario
  • Be 25 years of age or older as of August 1, 2026
  • Not be a paid MNO employee or elected PCMNO representative
  • Not be a current MNOWC member
  • Be nominated by someone else (self-nominations are not permitted)
  • Not have previously received the Women Honouring Women Award

Deadline

The deadline to submit nominations for the 2026 Women Honouring Women Award is May 31, 2026.
