The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Métis Youth Cultural Camp is a great opportunity for Métis youth (grade 10 to 12) to participate in cultural activities in-person.

The camp will celebrate Métis history as well as traditional and contemporary way of life and culture. Programming will be in sync with the fall season and will engage Métis youth in learning Métis culture and way of life.

Each day will consist of different workshops, land-based knowledge, storytelling, cultural arts and community building. The camp will be held at the Canadian Ecology Centre in Mattawa.

The camp will run from Thursday, October 27 to Sunday, October 30, 2022

STUDENT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Must self identify as Métis
  • Enrolled and attending high school within the province of Ontario
  • In grades 10, 11, 12 (ages 15 -18)
  • Provide a letter of support from a teacher/guidance counsellor or a Métis community council member and a letter of motivation
  • Must be fully vaccinated
  • Adhere to any COVID -19 protocols put in place by the MNO
