Ryan Lafleur steps down as PCMNO Post-Secondary Education Representative

Ryan Lafleur has submitted his resignation as Post-Secondary Education Representative on the Provisional Council of the Métis Nation of Ontario, effective September 7, 2026.

 

Ryan is stepping down from his elected role as he begins a new staff position as Métis Language Specialist with the Métis Language Initiatives team under the MNO Education and Training Branch. This transition helps maintain clear and transparent governance while allowing Ryan to continue supporting the growth and use of Michif in Ontario.

 

Ryan’s time on PCMNO came during an important period for MNO governance, including ongoing work related to the MNO Constitution and the future of Métis self-government in Ontario.

 

The MNO extends sincere thanks to Ryan for his service on PCMNO and his contributions to MNO citizens, and wishes him success in his new role.
