Central to building healthy, strong, and resilient Métis communities is our ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies and natural disasters. Whether it’s a severe weather event, a wildfire, or a public health crisis, the strength of our community lies in our collective readiness and resilience. To better support our citizens in these critical times, the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is taking a proactive step forward.
The MNO’s Rights, Research and Policy (RR&P) Branch is conducting an Emergency Management Needs Survey. This survey is designed to gather valuable insights directly from our citizens to understand better what you need before, during, and after an emergency. Your input is vital in helping us identify the supports and resources necessary to enhance our community’s safety and preparedness.
Why Your Participation Is Crucial
Every Métis community member’s experience is unique, and your perspective is essential. The survey will ask about any previous experiences you may have had with emergencies. It will also explore what types of support you might need before or during critical times. This initial citizen engagement is crucial to help give us the potential to develop ways to help in the future.
Shaping the Future of Emergency Management
The information collected from this survey will directly influence the MNO’s future emergency management planning and programming. By understanding the needs and priorities of our citizens, we can ensure that our strategies are effective and inclusive, addressing the diverse needs of our communities across Ontario.
A Chance to Win While You Contribute
As a thank you for your time and input, by completing the survey, you will be entered into a draw to win one of five gift cards from some of our wonderful Métis businesses and vendors. Each gift card is valued at $200, offering you a chance to support local Métis-owned enterprises while contributing to the well-being of our community.
How to Participate
Participating in the survey is easy and takes only a few minutes of your time. Your contribution will make a significant difference in shaping the future of emergency preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery within our Métis communities. Together, we can ensure that our community remains strong, resilient, and ready to face any challenges that come our way.
