Members of the MNO Great Lakes Métis Council with dignitaries at the
Council’s third annual Fish Fry
The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) Great Lakes Métis Council held its third annual fish fry at Hibou Conservation Park on July 20. The event was well attended and demonstrated there is a thriving Métis presence in the area around Grey, Bruce and Owen Sound. Special guests included Pauline Saulnier, the PCMNO Region Seven Councillor, Bill Walker, Member of the Provincial Parliament for Grey-Bruce-Owen Sound, and Harley Greenfield, Deputy Mayor of Meaford. Entertainment was provided by Johnny Borton, and a highlight for many was a raffle held for a canoe that was won by Keith Wilson. Keith generously donated the canoe back to the MNO Great Lakes Métis Council, and so, the Council will be able to hold another raffle for the canoe in the future.
