The Métis Voyageur Development Fund (MVDF) is seeking a Board Member(s) who is recognized as a Métis citizen, who is a resident of Ontario, and who can commit to a two (2) or three (3) year term with the possibility of renewal.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated career history as an entrepreneur with experience starting and growing a business and/or demonstrated increased leadership skills in a relevant senior management role with the following skills and/or knowledge:
- Demonstrate previous board or committee experience combined with strong knowledge and understanding of best practices in governance.
- Ability to read and evaluate financial statements and business plans.
- Experience and willingness to work effectively and collaboratively with Métis communities or organizations and honour Métis culture and traditions.
- Ability to attend all meetings and the necessary time commitment and travel throughout Ontario.
The MVDF Board of Directors is responsible for the independent and objective stewardship and oversight of the management of the MVDF. The Board is responsible for overseeing the establishment and maintenance of processes that ensure organizational compliance with the applicable laws and regulations as well as its own policies and relevant internal controls.
