The MNO Mental Wellness Health Promotion team is introducing Sparks, a new short-form video series exploring mental health and wellness topics, with guided moments of calm to support reflection and wellbeing.
The MNO is committed to supporting the health and wellness of Métis citizens and families. Through Sparks, the MNO will share accessible information, practical tools, and supportive conversations to help citizens learn, reflect, and care for their mental wellbeing.
New Sparks episodes will be released monthly.
Sparks Episodes Episode 1: Being There for Others
Following Suicide Prevention Day, the first episode of Sparks focuses on how to support someone you care about when they are struggling with their mental health.
The episode features Lauren Fox, Manager of Digital Programs at Jack.org, who joins the MNO Mental Wellness Health Promotion team for a conversation about how to “be there” for someone in a safe, supportive, and meaningful way.
Jack.org is a national non-profit organization that works with young people to advance mental health advocacy in their communities. Its free Be There certificate teaches practical ways to support someone through a mental health challenge.
