The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) has always made education a high priority. The goal of the MNO’s Post-Secondary Education Programs is to promote accessible education and education-related services and initiatives for Métis learners at the post-secondary level, in keeping with the Statement of Prime Purpose. The MNO prioritizes the following six key focus areas within Post-Secondary Education:

  • Student success and transitions
  • Curriculum and institutional changes that meet the unique needs of Métis learners
  • Indigenous Education Committee participation and community involvement
  • Research and curriculum development
  • Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between post-secondary institutions and the MNO
  • Direct PSE student support programs

Post-Secondary Education Financial Assistance Program

The MNO is pleased to offer direct financial assistance to support MNO citizens enrolled in eligible Post-Secondary education programs.

Post-Secondary Education Travel Support Program

The MNO is pleased to offer eligible Post-Secondary Education Students access to the MNO’s PSE Travel Support Program.

MNO Métis Student Bursary Program

MNO citizens can apply for additional financial assistance through the MNO Métis Student Bursary Program, which provides bursaries to MNO citizens at 43 Ontario post-secondary institutions.

MNO Education Hub

Welcome to the Métis Nation of Ontario Education Hub, a new Métis-centric education app with events, moderated discussions, and official MNO resources, including financial aid, housing support, and student mentorship programs.

PSE Navigator Support Program

The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is pleased to provide real time personalized help for Métis Post-Secondary Students through the PSE Navigator team.

Infinite Reach Student Solidarity Network

The MNO’s Infinite Reach Student Solidarity Network is comprised of incoming and upper year post-secondary students who work together to enhance the post-secondary education experience.

MNO Post-Secondary Education Student Achievement Awards

The MNO is pleased to announce a new merit-based award for current Métis Post-Secondary Students. The Post-Secondary Education Student Achievement awards will recognize academic excellence coupled with strong involvement in Métis communities and will offer up to five awards of $ 5,000, presented at the AGA.

Métis Regional and Community Council Bursaries

Métis Regional and Community Council Bursaries (MNO Citizens can now apply for additional financial assistance from select Regional and Community Councils.)

Education & Partnership Advisors (EPAs)

MNO PSE Education & Partnership Advisors (EPAs) liaise, coordinate, and build collaborative relationships with MNO Community Councils and Post-Secondary Institutions across the province.
