The MNO is pleased to offer the Mental Health and Addictions Program. The Program is offered Ontario wide and offers a wide range of services and supports to Métis children, youth, and adults across the province. Services are delivered in person, over the phone, or by video conference. Through this Program the MNO is able to provide seamless and timely access to comprehensive assessment, treatment, and follow up services which are offered by mental health and addictions professions many of whom are both Métis and bilingual in both English and French.
Through the Program Behavioural Consultants can offer a variety of interventions such as:
- Case management to ensure you receive the right service at the right time for the duration of your involvement with the Program
- Mental Health and Addictions assessment which includes digital dependency, gaming, and gambling support
- Individual counselling for crisis, trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, addiction, anger management, digital dependency, and gambling
- Couples counselling
- Family therapy and parenting coaching
- Addictions counselling
- Other psychiatry, psychology, and psychotherapy services
As part of the Program individual counselling services are offered by Métis clinicians who provide services using a Métis cultural lens. The Program also works in collaboration with the MNO’s Education Advocacy Support Program to help support children and youth in reaching their highest potential within the school environment. This includes helping to provide access to speech pathology, behavioural therapies, occupational therapy, and tutoring as needed.

Mental Health and Addictions Community Program
In addition to the Mental Health and Addictions Program the MNO is also pleased to offer the Mental Health and Addictions Community Program in Kingston, Ontario. This Program is a single site community based program that was specifically designed to help reduce the stigma associated with Mental Health and create opportunities for Métis and other Indigenous people in Ontario to co-create coping mechanisms in a non-expert setting. Through this Program a cultural lens is applied in order to create connections between the clinical expert level supports that individuals and families may need to be involved with on their wellness journey.
