The Thunder Bay Indigenous Youth Transition House is being developed through the collaboration of four Indigenous organizations, including Ontario Aboriginal Housing Services (OAHS), Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre (TBIFC), Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) and Ontario Native Women’s Association (ONWA). The Thunder Bay Indigenous Youth Transition House will offer housing to Indigenous youth aged 18-29 (with possible extension to 34 years of age when graduating between stages) experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness, using a culture first approach, supporting each youth with individualized wrap-around services and culturally enriched programming.

This is an OAHS-owned building and construction is currently estimated to be completed by late 2025 (fall/winter).
