Get help navigating the Early Years services! The Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) is pleased to offer the Early Learning Child Care Developmental Resource Consultant program. The purpose of this program is to provide support to Métis children 0-8 years through providing advocacy and navigation services for families to recognize learning barriers and seek support.

In the childcare setting, the ELCC DRC capitalizes on the opportunity to support the Métis child through collaboration with the child’s early years’ educators. The ELCC DRC brings together parents, guardians and educators of the Métis child to discuss the recommendations for resources and supports made by either the external community-based partners or internally through the MNO.

The Program is offered Ontario wide and is for Métis children, their families and educators who are experiencing issues or challenges in the following areas:

    • Developmental needs
    • Accessing Educational Resources
    • Social isolation
    • Individual Education Planning
    • Behavioural Planning
    • Specialized placement for children with exceptionalities
    • Mental health or learning disabilities
    • Communications within early years’ settings

Support is available if there are clear educational challenges, as well as if there are no specific needs. All are welcome! To learn more about the Program please see our Program Brochure

To qualify for the MNO Early Learning Developmental Resource Consultant Program:

    • One parent/guardian or child must be an MNO Citizen
    • Applicants must have a child aged 0-8 in need of support
    • Applicants must reside in Ontario
